How to reach La Maddalena and save
To start your vacation in the Maddalena Archipelago, the first step is to reach northern Sardinia. You can choose from several options depending on your departure city:
- By Ferry: You can disembark at the main ports of northern Sardinia, such as Olbia, Golfo Aranci, or Porto Torres. From there, it’s just a short drive or bus ride to the port of Palau.
- By Plane: The nearest airport is Olbia Costa Smeralda, connected to the main Italian and European hubs. Once you land, Palau can be reached in about 50 minutes by car, or via transfers and regular buses.
Palau – La Maddalena Connection
Whatever mode of transport you choose, the final boarding always takes place at the port of Palau. The crossing is short (about 15–20 minutes), and ferries run very frequently, operating year-round, with departures approximately every 30 minutes during the high season.
